LRT protocol
LRT, the proprietary protocol that binds your CDN
Lumivio Stream nodes talk to each other over LRT, a transport protocol created by Lumivio specifically for live television. Other protocols were born to move files or web pages and were later adapted to video. LRT was born for this: video that arrives on time, protected and without cuts, even on imperfect networks.

Sustained low latency
Built for live: video travels on tight margins and repairs are sent only if they can still arrive in time. The network is never spent on data that no longer helps.

Repairs before anyone notices
The loss and reordering that real internet paths produce are corrected before the playout deadline. The subscriber never sees the problem because the problem never reaches the screen.

Two routes for what matters
A priority channel can travel over two independent paths and be recombined at the destination. If one route fails, the other carries on and the stream does not restart.

One channel never drags the rest
A single session carries entire lineups with channels isolated from each other: a channel in trouble does not degrade the others.

Encrypted end to end
Every session is mutually authenticated and encrypted with the same hybrid cryptography with post-quantum protection as the rest of the platform, with keys that rotate on their own.

Instant start
When joining a channel or after a node change, the protocol sends ahead exactly what is needed so the video starts at once, without waiting.
What makes it different from SRT and QUIC
Open transports are excellent at what they were designed for, and Lumivio Stream speaks them as a matter of course. LRT exists because end-to-end managed television calls for a more specific purpose.
